Matlen Silver was recently awarded the IT Services Staffing Vendor of the Year by Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. Matlen Silver was given this award based on quality of service, volume of business, and compliance with the Merrill Lynch Vendor Program.

 Matlen Silver Delivers PC Refresh Project Ahead of Schedule and Under Budget

Matlen Silver was engaged by a large financial services firm to manage and implement a large-scale PC refresh. We deployed 32 team members that included Project Managers, Technical Analysts, Packagers, and PC Technicians. The project involved refreshes or replacement of over 6,000 desktops and laptops at three major sites and more than 40 smaller sites within a 12- to 18-month timeframe.

 Matlen Silver Becomes IBM Tier 1 Services Provider

The Matlen Silver Group is an IBM Tier 1 Services Provider and an IBM Regional Systems Integrator. Matlen Silver partners with IBM to deliver IT optimization services within three services areas:

·         Strategy Development—including the IBM Virtualization Engine™ Strategy and Roadmap.

·         Process Implementation—including IBM's ITIL/IRM Accelerator™ Solutions and IT Services Management Design.

·         Technology Implementation - including the implementation and optimization of IBM Storage and Server solutions.

 Matlen Silver Assists Client with Implementing Disaster Recovery Plan

Matlen Silver was contacted by the Disaster Recovery team at AIG Technologies, Inc. (AIGT), which is responsible for maintaining the data center and infrastructure for the member companies of American International Group, Inc. At an AIGT facility in Texas, which was directly in the path of Hurricane Rita, we helped implement their disaster recovery plan. Remote operations were established to restore servers in Texas and operated until the endangered facility could be fully restored. Due to the urgent time constraints, AIGT required supplemental resources to staff these sites, and Matlen Silver quickly assembled a team of nine engineers; within 24 hours, our team was executing the server restore procedures from AIGT’s disaster recovery plan. Working with AIGT, the Matlen Silver team was able to cut over to their remote sites without business disruption to AIGT’s clients.

Matlen Silver Achieves SAS 70 Certification

The Matlen Silver Group's Technology Infrastructure has achieved an SAS Type II certification, one of the most stringent auditing standards for service companies defined by the Statement on Auditing Standards. The SAS 70 Type II means that Matlen Silver's infrastructure delivers a fully secure, reliable, and effective operating environment with proper controls for conducting high availability IT transactions. The SAS 70 Type II audit, administered by Ernst & Young, was performed through meticulous reviews and tests of operational procedures and controls. This SAS 70 Type II ensures that Matlen Silver’s operational processes and controls meet superior standards of security, reliability, and availability. The Ernst & Young audit included comprehensive reviews of our infrastructure, including physical and electronic security measures, backup and recovery procedures, network security, maintenance procedures, infrastructure change management, environmental safeguards, and insurance coverage.
