The Matlen Silver Group, Inc., was founded in 1980 and continues to be owned and operated by two of the original founders, James De Silver and Michael Chirichella. At the time, the firm’s original focus was on providing network monitoring and management software products for the financial services industry, and we employed software engineers with a hands-on approach to technology and a passion for building software to solve business and technology problems.

In addition to software solutions, Matlen Silver knew early on that our clients required customization services, and the firm began offering professional solutions to complement our core products and services. Matlen Silver quickly developed a strong reputation as a highly competent and reliable Technology / IT staffing firm. Our growth was fueled by a strong reputation and numerous referrals from satisfied clients. We soon became known as an organization that provided talented technical resources along with highly competitive rates.

In the 1990s, Matlen Silver continued to grow organically; annual revenues went from $12 million in 1992 to over $65 million in 2001. During the early Internet / dot-com era, Matlen Silver invested in technical talent for web-based technologies and kicked off its Solution Center to provide off-site Application and Infrastructure solutions. Matlen Silver also developed a Year 2000 practice to overhaul legacy code for numerous clients in the financial services sector.

Today, Matlen Silver recognizes trends and opportunities in the business solutions and information technology niches and concentrates its offerings within the financial services and pharmaceutical industries. As we continue to grow our technology solutions offerings, over 25% of Matlen Silver's business is executed as a solution that is managed by our own internal staff.

Looking ahead, Matlen Silver sees a bright future. Our growth will continue by supporting our clients and expanding the business into new verticals, technologies, and locations.
